@Phoenix BK Thats absolutely true but the representation of feminism on social media is not at all positive. So instead of going for the dictionary meaning lets look around and see how feminism is represented on social media. Most probably first thought would be "it's her choice" or something else like that. Since the perceived meaning of the word has been distorted we can instead use other world like gender equality to put our point. Btw "egalitarian society" is the word I personally use(its quite difficult for a lot of people i know) A lot of men like me do not recognize as feminists but believe in gender equality and try to form a society in which people in general regardless of their gender have equal rights and opportunities and are treated fairly. I didn't mean to school you in any way , it was just a humble perspective. You can absolutely use any word. I mean whatever floats your boat peace✌

@leandra woods I will not comment on that...history around this like many other things is disappointing to say the least. My point is that feminism is not gender equality, it's is a women rights movement at best, so say it boldly. Another point I raised was that your fight is not against men, we do not meet on Saturday afternoons to make plans on oppressing women. So no need to hate us. Your fight is against the circumstances. For eg. The work in last century and before that was mostly physical labour and it served men really good, other factors like child bearing, lack of menstural hygiene products also made it difficult for women to work outside of house for long times. The movement helped you to claim position of power in the new work force, but now this is taking a new direction, where you are seeking equality on outcomes, I would only say good luck with that. "Good times make weak people".

This was so truee, like till now many of the indian serials only have such things: 1. At one point women is attacked by goons and the hero saves her 2. Women is shown so weak that she will not be able to walk and the man will carry her 3. Women would cry on simple things and the men would make the change 4. Women are the only one shown to be cooking, and doing house chores 5. Women are dressed in all indian heavy clothes 6. Women face taunts by her in laws where the husband does not even care MAN THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE! And againg feminism is NOT about hating men it is about getting equal opportunities, and every time you talk about it someone or other gets irritated because of the "FEMINISM".
